A two acre plot of land located in Amaokpara Amiri in IMO State Nigeria was purchased in January 2021, through the generosity of our donors and members of the Society of St. Bartimaeus.
In April 2021, we built a concrete wall around the property. Truckloads of sand were delivered and brick makers were hired to make thousands of bricks. Trench diggers arrived with their manual trenching tools- shovels, hoes and pick mattlocks. Working in the equatorial heat of Africa, with tattered clothes and drenched with sweat, a 1,700 foot trench was dug around the perimeter of the property. An 8 foot brick wall was made to secure the land.
